Grey Hair Challenge

Nº 156 weekly devotions to refresh your soul by Dr. Dan Bolin - JULY 27, 2021

“You teach what you know, but you reproduce what you are.” - Howard Hendricks

This week marks my 69th trip around the sun! Most have been pretty good; some more enjoyable than others. All have been filled with adventure. Moses lived to be 120 years old; I don’t think I’ll catch him. David died at age 70; I’m hopeful I will surpass him. Hezekiah made it to his early 50s; I’m a couple decades ahead of him already. And Jesus was crucified when he was about 33 years old. WOW! How did He do so much in such a short lifetime? None of us knows the day of our departure, but today we are certainly closer to the end than we were yesterday. How we invest ourselves each day is much more important than our number of days. How long we live is incidental. How we live is critical. The psalmist understood the challenge of living well and finishing strong. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come. (Psalm 71:18) Depend on God every day. Share what He has done for you. And influence the next generation(s) to the very end.
