“Jesus is not one of many ways to approach God, nor is He the best of several ways; He is the only way.”  - A. W. Tozer

My father coached high school football. So, Friday nights were spent watching his games. Many Saturdays my brothers and I tagged along as he scouted an upcoming opponent.

On Friday nights we sat in the stands, but on Saturday afternoons, we sat in the press box with dad. I loved the press box; we were warm and dry while enjoying donuts and hot chocolate. Life was good in the box!

Being with dad got us in! Had we tried to access the special seating without him, we would have been chased away. But with him, we were welcomed inside. Our relationship with our father made all the difference.

The benefits we enjoy as Christians come because we are part of God’s family. Our relationship with God the Father, through Jesus, makes all the difference. When we are part of His family, we have amazing rights, privileges, and responsibilities.

The Apostle John put it this way, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (I John 3:1)

This Father’s Day remember all the benefits and blessings of the special relationships in your life. Honor and thank your earthly dad and your heavenly Father as well.
