Center of Your World

"It is, perhaps, one of the hardest struggles of the Christian life to learn this sentence - "Not unto us, not unto us, but unto Thy name be glory."" - Charles Spurgeon

In the early 16th century, the Polish mathematician and astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus made a startling discovery: the earth revolves around the sun, not the sun around the earth! This revolutionary insight had massive ramifications for science, philosophy, and religion.

Each of us is born believing that the world revolves around us. At some point, we need an “ah-ha” moment where we realize that we are not the center of our solar system. We need the realization that something (or Someone) more powerful and significant than us controls our orbit and is our Source of life and light.

When Isaiah caught a glimpse of the Center of the universe, his life was changed forever. He said, “I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.”

That wondrous sight changed his view of himself and his future. He responded, “Woe to me! . . . "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips.’” And when the call came for service Isaiah responded, “Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:1,5 & 8)

Remember the true Center of the universe and adjust everything else to follow the orbit He has established for you!
