Years ago, Corrie ten Boom spoke in chapel at the Christian college I attended. She told of facing horrific dangers in the face of Nazi aggression during World War II. She also shared many anchors that stabilized her and her family as they faced the cruel atrocities.

She related that when she felt overwhelmed and her situation seemed hopeless, she often read the final chapters of Revelation. The picture of everlasting glory and eternity with God reassured her troubled soul. She remembered God’s final victory and exclaimed in her Dutch accent, Ve Vin!

We win! Yes, if we are in Christ, we are on the winning side. Despite how painful and frustrating our circumstances are today, we look ahead to Christ’s final victory.

Here is what she may have read, “And I hear a loud voice from the throne saying, “now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’” (Revelation 21:3-4)
