In a much healthier way, Paul explains to the Ephesians God’s ‘bottomless love’ for them – and for us. He records his prayer for them: “I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17b-19)


God does not ration his love. He does not say, “one basket only” and expect us to nibble a little now and then to remind ourselves what his unconditional love tastes like. Rather, He keeps serving His love to us – as much as we can consume.


Paul prays for the Ephesians to grasp the immensity of God’s love for them. We easily forget that we cannot exhaust God’s love. Remember, our offenses toward Him are never greater than His love for us.


During this holiday season, don’t be afraid to overeat! Have seconds, thirds, and more of the scrumptious love God lavishly provides.
