Not So Hidden Treasure
Nº 152 NOT SO HIDDEN TREASURE weekly devotions to refresh your soul by Dr. Dan Bolin - June 29, 2021
“An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part, but to each one He gives all of Himself as fully as if there were no others.” - A.W. Tozer
I recently read the tragic story of a homeless lady who passed away while living in abject poverty on the streets of a major city. As investigators searched for her next-of-kin, they discovered a bank had been trying to locate her to deliver an inheritance of nearly one million dollars. Wracked by mental health issues, living in poverty, and consumed by drugs, she failed to realize and enjoy the hope, riches, and opportunity that were waiting for her. Too often we live as spiritual paupers, failing to receive the treasures God has in store for us. I’m not supporting health and wealth silliness; I’m referring to spiritual blessings that God wants us to enjoy. Paul prayed that the Christians of Ephesus would not miss the spiritual treasures that were available to them. “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1:18-19a) Don’t wallow in the spiritual hopelessness, poverty, and weakness. Enjoy the hope, spiritual inheritance, and power that only God provides.
