Dangerous & Awesome

“Beloved, I say, let your fears go, lest they make you fainthearted. Stop inspiring fear in those around you and now take your stand in faith. God has been good and He will continue to manifest His goodness. Let us approach these days expecting to see the goodness of the Lord manifest. Let us be strong and of good courage, for the Lord will fight for us if we stand in faith.” - Francis Frangipane

A few years ago, a friend and I added three days to a conference in Kenya and visited the Masai Mara. We saw the Big Five - elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, and buffalo - along with giraffe, zebra, hippo, crocodile, wildebeest, springbuck, and a host of other exotic animals that roam free in this massive game park.

Entering the preserve was both dangerous and awesome, so two young Kenyans joined us: a park ranger and a tour guide. The ranger’s job was to keep us safe; the guide’s job was to make sure we saw as many rare and amazing animals as possible.

Both a protector and guide were essential on our once-in-a-lifetime African adventure. And protection and guidance are critical every day on the grand adventure of life.

David knew a little about danger and adventure. He prayed, “be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.” (Psalm 31:2b-3)

The new adventure of 2020 is filled with unknown dangers and wonderous opportunities. Commit to stay close to the Protector and Guide who will walk with you every step of the way!
